Black American Walnut Info

The Black American Walnut is a deciduous tree native to central, eastern U.S and southeastern Canada. Producing a rich dark timber, this species is highly prized for furniture makers and food production. Stands of this tree are often used for both nut production and fine timber simultaneously.

This species is frost tolerant. Hardy to Zone 5a - 9a.

Average time to fruit production is 8 - 10 years.

These saplings are 5 - 6" tall and will need potting into individual 12" pots when you recieve them.

 

Care Instructions

Keep watered, never allow to fully dry out. Temperatures of below 10°C (50°F) should be avoided in the summer. Feed monthly with a nitrogen fertilizer.
